"Kerala people are asking why when a student and a Dalit woman was brutally raped and murdered, Rahul is not visiting Kerala", Union Minister and senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu told an election rally at Chelakara in Thrissur district. Gandhi had visited Hyderabad and met the mother of research scholar Rohit Vemula, who committed suicide, soon after the incident and attacked the BJP-led NDA government saying 'voices for new ideas were being suppressed in the country'.
In Bengal it is 'dosti' and in Kerala it is 'kushti', Naidu said.
Later speaking at an election rally at Coimbatore, Venkaiah Naidu claimed that only BJP could provide a corruption-free and transparent government in Tamil Nadu and cited the two- year rule of the party at the Centre, which,he said, had not seen a single incident of corruption.
If BJP was elected to power in the state, it will provide a similar government in Tamil Nadu, he said.
He said the Narendra Modi had given various projects to the state like smart cities and other developmental schemes.
Alleging that both DMK and AIADMK, which had alternatively ruled Tamil Nadu for the last 50 years, had taken the state backward, he said people would reject these 'corrupt parties' as they wanted a change.
