Danish pump-maker Grundfos targets doubling market share

Grundfos Pumps India plans to double its market share in the high-pressure industrial and water treatment products segment to 3 per cent this fiscal, a top company official said today.
To meet the target, the company has launched a new product, BMS hs AC high-speed booster pump, used for reverse osmosis and ultra-filtration applications. It is used in pharmaceuticals, food, electronics and desalination industries.
"The new pump ensures high efficiency and energy savings of up to 10-12 per cent compared to products from rivals," Grundfos Pumps India Sales Head Saravanan Panneer Selvam told PTI here.
He noted that the high-pressure booster market in the country is worth Rs 150 crore and Grundfos plans to double its share in this segment to 3 per cent in 2016-17.

The Danish company is also looking to double its sales this year.
"With increasing demand for sustainable and energy efficient pumps in the water treatment segment, our new pumps are specifically designed to improve efficiency for high flow and pressure applications," he said.
