A student of Darul Uloom seminary was allegedly beaten up by two unidentified persons in a train in Shamli district, police said today.
Mohammed Kafil from Bihar was injured when some youths beat him up in a train while he was going to Deoband from Delhi yesterday, they said.
The incident took place between Shamli and Thanabhawan on the Delhi-Saharanpur route in Shamli district, they said.
A case has been registered against the two unknown miscreants, police said, adding that no arrest has been made so far.
Following the incident, an angry mob protested at Thanabhawan, demanding arrest of the culprits.
This is second such incident reported recently. On August 31, four students of the seminary were allegedly beaten up in a train near Khatoli town.
