Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said the historic 'Mudma Mela' would be given the status of a state fair and would be developed into a tourist spot.
Addressing the fair on the last day of the celebrations, Das said the place resonates with religious and cultural vibes.
Calling upon to ensure state's development through harmony, Das advised the people not to get misled by anyone and it was the responsibility of the youth to protect their culture and tradition, an official release said.
Stressing upon literacy to make the people live in a job-oriented society, the chief minister said everyone should join in fighting poverty.
Those tribal girls who could not get college education would be imparted skill training and made eligible for employment, he said.
Das said the state would become prosperous only when tribals become prosperous, adding the government would develop cottage industry in villages.
He said poultry owners could sell eggs in schools (for midday meal) situated in their vicinity, adding the state had entrusted local carpenters to make desk/bench for schools.
Agriculture tools would also be provided, he said.
