Actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez have now been signed for the Taran Mansukhani film, which will be produced by Dharma Productions and Salman Khan Films.
It was however Kaif who was initially approached for the role.
"Katrina was approached for the film since she was a perfect fit for the role and shares a great equation with Salman Khan Films and Dharma Productions. She had to turn it down as she has signed another movie, dates of which were clashing with this project," sources close to the development said in a statement here.
Katrina will be seen next in "Baar Baar Dekho" opposite Sidharth Malhotra.
