In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, Amritsar was the hottest place with a high of 37.4 degrees Celsius, which was however, one notch below normal.
While Ambala had a high of 37.2 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature at Hisar was 37 degrees Celsius, which was three notches below normal.
Among other places, Patiala and Chandigarh settled at an identical high of 36.5 degrees Celsius followed by 36.4 degrees Celsius each at Bhiwani and Ludhiana, two notches below normal, 36 degrees Celsius at Karnal and 34 degrees Celsius at Narnaul which was five notches below normal.
