Media firm D B Corp today reported 11 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 57.09 crore for the March quarter on account of higher expenses.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 64.18 crore during the same period of 2016-17.
Total income during the reported quarter stood at Rs 574.47 crore, up 10 per cent as against Rs 522.18 crore in the year-ago period, D B Corp said in a BSE filing.
Total expenses were at Rs 495.61 crore in the last quarter of 2017-18, up 16.02 per cent from Rs 427.15 crore reported in the March quarter of 2016-17.
Its advertising revenues grew 8.2 per cent to Rs 386.1 crore as against Rs 356.7 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Circulation revenue increased 8.5 per cent to Rs 132 crore from Rs 121.7 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
For the entire fiscal, the media firm reported a net profit at Rs 323.97 crore compared to Rs 374.75 crore in 2016-17.
Total income for 2017-18 stood at Rs 2,352.24 crore as against Rs 2,274.97 crore in the preceding year.
The Board of Directors has recommended final dividend of Re 1 per equity share for 2017-18.
Shares of D B Corp were trading 1.45 per cent lower at Rs 271.30 on BSE.
