Ratan Singh who worked as a dressing room caretaker was seen in the CCTV footage purportedly stealing an LED TV set from the match referee's room.
This matter was brought to the notice of Justice (Rtd) Vikramajit Sen, the court-appointed administrator of DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association).
He ordered that a police complaint be registered against the DDCA employee.
A complaint was lodged at central Delhi's IP Estate police station yesterday and the CCTV footage was submitted to them.
He passed away in his sleep. He was rushed to a hospital this morning where he was declared brought dead, a senior police officer said.
Singh was in-charge of ensuring dressing room security. He used to take care of the players' kits and had been working at the stadium for nearly 15 years.
It is suspected that he was was facing financial issues and was depressed.
