The snake was found in the pack of mango pulp bought by Sajiv from a shop for his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, police said.
In his complaint, Sajiv said his daughter had almost drained the contents of the packet when she felt something thick inside it. When her grandmother ripped open the packet, they found a tiny snake in a decayed form in it, they said.
The girl complained of uneasiness, after which she was rushed to a nearby hospital, where her condition was stated to be stable.
The label on the packet showed that its shelf-life had expired.
In a similar incident, a dead viper was found in a packet of curry sold by medical college hospital canteen here.
