"Out of the four critically injured, one person identified as Jagdish died early this morning at Hallett hospital," DIG, Kanpur, Amitabh Yash said.
Seven people were killed on the spot and ten others injured when a speeding truck rammed into the jeep ferrying passengers to Bangarmau last evening.
The deceased have been identified as Girijashanker (35), Shazia (16), Sonam (13), Arvind, Rambharosey, Sudama and Manish, he said, adding that the driver of the truck and his helper are still absconding.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate M P Agrawal announced Rs 2 lakh as ex-gratia relief to the kin of those who died in the accident.
