Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday welcomed the Centre's decision to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution.
The government on Monday revoked Article 370 to take away Jammu and Kashmir's special status, and proposed the bifurcation of the state into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
"Special status for J&K ends, Jammu & Kashmir is now a Union Territory with assembly & Ladakh would be separate Union Territory with no legislature. I welcome @narendramodi ji led Govt's 'J&K reorganization bill' for the betterment of valley's people," Deb tweeted.
He further said, "Dream of Dr Syama Prasad Mookherjee's 'Ek desh, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan aur Ek Nishan' has become true today".
