Efforts were on to reopen the Kerala Spinning and Weaving Mill at nearby Komalapuram, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said.
Speaking at a meeting here, Chandy said the government would decide on the Rs 20 crore assistance sought by textile corporation for opening the mill.
With regard to selecting workers, he said it was quite justifiable that the former employees should get preference.
The Government too had this opinion, he said.
"Those who worked here willing to come forward will be considered subject to norms such as age limit', he said.
However, he said norms would be fixed if more persons turn up.
