"The Prime Minister has already appealed in his radio program 'Maan ki Baat' on Sunday...I too would like to appeal the people to declare their undisclosed income and assets before September 30," Commissioner of Income Tax D S Benupani said today.
"The department will be rigorously pursuing income tax dodgers for unearthing the undisclosed income and assets after the window of opportunity closes on September 30," he said.
Pune Income Tax region comprises 25 districts and includes major cities like Pune, Nashik, Thane, Kolhapur and Aurangabad.
"The department has already identified taxpayers who are under-reporting their income, particularly civil contractors, doctors and professionals and the department has been mandated by the government to pursue the income tax dodgers for unearthing the undisclosed income," he said.
