Deer skin, horns seized in UP
Press Trust of India Lakhimpur (UP) Deer skin and horns were seized by the Forest officials from Rura Sultanpur village of Gola range.
Divisional Forest Officer Neeraj Kumar said that the seizure was made on a tip-off late last night.
The skin and horns of the deer had been kept in a suitcase and hidden at a banana garden of one Karam Singh, who has been fined, the DFO said.
A case under Indian Wildlife Act 1972 was also lodged against Singh.
The skin and antlers were found to be of a spotted deer, he said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
