Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel today accepted that there was a delay in issuing the notification of Budget session due to which there was lack of time to hold question hour.
Earlier, one hour on each day of the session was dedicated to question hour.
"Budget went to central government which took some time and its notification was received by Assembly on June 17, so we had no sufficient time to allot time for star question. But we have allotted two days in which we have got a list of 67 questions from the MLAs.
Speaker today announced that Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia will table the Budget on June 25, while Economic Survey will be released on June 24. Members will discuss the Budget on June 29 and 30.
Goel said members can also raise short notice questions, however, members can only ask three short notice questions in a day for which three days notice is required.
Speaker added that members can discuss important public issues under Rule 107 and under Rule 114 MLAs can give congratulations or raise other motions. Under rule 55, a member can discuss matter of utmost public importance. Total 43 notices have been received so far.
Assembly has allotted June 26 for the private member bills and resolution.
"Balloting concluded on June 19, following three resolutions have secured the place and will be taken up for the discussion on June 26," he said.
In private member resolution, MLA from Rajouri Garden Jarnail Singh has resolved that the Government of India should take appropriate steps for strengthening and betterment of the federal structure and democratic setup by making necessary amendments in the constitution.
Speaking about the Lokpal bill, Goel said, "Government is working on Lokpal bill, earlier bill had some flaw so government is working in strengthening the bill. One of the MLA will also discuss the issue in the Assembly.
