The Delhi government has sent a file pertaining to the rejig in the cabinet to Lt Governor Anil Baijal for his approval, an official said today.
As per the plan, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is likely to get the tourism portfoli from Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Gautam.
The Deputy Chief Minister is likely to be relieved of the charge of both the revenue department and registrar of cooperative societies.
Law and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot is likely to get the responsibility of revenue department while the registrar of cooperative societies office will be given to Rajendra Gautam.
Reacting to the government's move, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta alleged the Deputy Chief Minister's stature has been "reduced" in the Kejriwal Cabinet.
"There is growing distrust between Kejriwal and Sisodia. It has found reflection found in the proposal for reshuffling sent by CM to LG. Taking away the most important Deparment from Sisodia clearly indicates that he is no longer blue-eyed boy of the chief minister," Gupta said in a statement.
