BJP, which had six members in the last Board, claimed that the victory shows that it is the first choice of the people of Delhi.
With the Aam Aadmi Party contesting the Board elections for the first time, it was a three-cornered contest this time.
"This result is a first shock of the New Year to the Aam Aadmi Party who was the self declared first choice of the people of Delhi," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said.
BJP candidate Rachna Kadiyan defeated Peeti Mittar of Congress by 791 votes in Ward No. 2 while in Ward 3, BJP's Kavita Jain got 1,078 votes while Congress candidate Preeti Gandhi bagged 797 votes and AAP's candidate Geeta Choubey 517.
"In the elections of Ward No. 4, BJP leader Jagjit Singh defeated AAP's Virendra Singh by 771 votes while Congress's Kamal Kishore got only 310 votes," said a senior official of the Board.
In Ward No. 5, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Nand Kishore Beniwal defeated Congress's Ratan Lal by 456 votes while BJP's candidate Lal Chand Mehrolia got 1,236 votes.
In Ward No. 8, BJP leader Priyanka Chowdhry defeated AAP leader Anju Bala by 1,246 votes.
The last election of Delhi Cantonment Board was held in May, 2008. The tenure of councillors is five years.
However, the tenure of the Board's councillors, which was supposed to end in 2013, was extended for one year due to President's Rule.
"The voters of Cantonment Board have shown that they do not believe in fractured mandate. The people of Delhi will give a clear majority to the BJP and pave the way for development of Delhi," Upadhyay said.
"In the meeting, we discussed poll strategy. Besides, the names of probable candidates were discussed. As the process of nomination is starting on January 14, we will have to announce candidates soon," said a senior BJP leader.
