Family members of an 18-year-old deaf and mute girl have alleged that officials of a police post in south Delhi misbehaved with them during an argument over an incident, a charge denied by the cops.
The incident took place at Bhogal police chowki in Hazrat Nizamuddin.
The elder sister of the girl alleged that the chowki in-charge misbehaved with them during an argument last night and molested her and her younger sibling.
But they did not make any formal complaint with the police in this regard.
Senior police officers, however, said the deaf and mute girl was brought to the Bhogal police chowki by a beat constable after she was found loitering in the area in an alleged inebriated condition last night.
The chowki in-charge informed the girl's family, after which her father and elder sister came there, they said.
The officials said but instead of appreciating their efforts, the family misbehaved with them for taking her to the police chowki and they started shouting at the policemen.
"The policemen at the post tried to pacify them, but the girl's father misbehaved with the chowki in-charge and screamed at him for bringing his daughter there.
"An argument broke out between them during which the chowki in-charge slapped the girl's father," an officer said.
The officer said after leaving the chowki, the girl's family approached the Hazrat Nizamuddin police station where they alleged that the Bhogal police chowki in-charge molested and misbehaved with the two women.
