Delhi govt approves 15 building projects for police

Aiming at providing adequate housing for Delhi Police, the city government today approved 15 building projects worth Rs 723.77 crore under the Delhi Police Building Programme Scheme.
"The objective of the scheme is to provide adequate housing for Delhi Police and to improve its efficiency level by providing regular police stations, other office buildings and residential facilities," an official statement said.
Presently, of the 182 police stations functioning in Delhi, 111 are functioning from departmental buildings and the remaining are either in rented accommodation or temporary structures or Police Post buildings, the statement said.
