In the wake of sudden increase in retail and whole sale prices of wheat flour, Delhi Food and Supplies Minister Imran Hussain today ordered his department to ascertain the reasons behind it and submit a report in this regard by Wednesday evening.
There has been an increase in prices of wheat flour from Rs 2 to 4 per kg in retail and wholesale market.
"Department (Food and Supplies) has been asked to ascertain the reasons for undue increase in the retail and whole sale prices of Atta. The report is to be submitted by Wednesday evening by the department," Hussain said in his order.
Besides, the minister has directed expeditious review of transport system engaged by Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation (DSCSC) for timely and accurate supply of food grains i.E wheat, sugar and rice to the fair price shops (FPS) for the beneficiaries of Public Distribution System (PDS).
Taking cognizance of an incident at a liquor shop where an employee was shot at by thieves, Hussain has also directed CMD of DSCSC to review and obtain weekly reports regarding the functioning of CCTV cameras in all liquor shops of the DSCSC.
"Monthly review of the matter will be done at the Minister level in the interest of safety of employees and stocks of DSCSC," said a senior government official.
Last month, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had also announced inspection of all liquor shops including installation of CCTV cameras to ascertain whether they are following rules or not.
