Last year, the 551 camps were organised in the Delhi government schools, in which around 50,000 students had participated.
The summer camp for children entering class 6 began today in 1,024 schools and will continue its fight till June 3.
In the debut edition last year, the government had conducted summer camps in its 551 schools.
"Summer camps were brought in last year to help children coming in form other schools to cope with the new academic rigour as well as the environment. However, they also fit into our vision of schools as institutions beyond merely places of study," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said.
