The decision was taken today at a meeting with autorickshaw drivers held at Delhi Secretariat here.
According to a senior government official, Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai has asked the Traffic Police to not challan auto drivers for parking their vehicles around 'Halt & Go' stand in the capital.
Senior officials from the traffic police also attended the meeting.
"Minister has directed officials to create 'Welfare Fund' for autorickshaw drivers, using the money with the traffic police which was earned from charging Rs 5 from auto drivers while taking passengers through traffic prepaid booths," the official said.
In the meeting, the minister assured them that there will be no harm to their livelihood from the newly-introduced City Taxi Service.
The minister also said that Burari Transport Authority will be developed as a model authority.
