Delhi Police rescue kidnapped man; 2 arrested

Delhi Police have rescued a 35-year-old person who was kidnapped and arrested two persons.
Police said that the arrested have been identified as Azad (35) and Insaf (22), both residents of Mewat (Haryana), adding that the accused had demanded a ransom of 10 lakh for safe release of the victim.
According to police, Ali Haider, a resident of New Friends Colony, had on October 13 reported that his brother Sheelu, who works in a factory in Zakir Nagar area, had on October 11 left his works without information but did not return.
Haider received a call on his mobile phone from his brother's mobile number in which the caller informed that his brother was in his custody and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh for his release.
"On the basis of the technical surveillance, the location of mobile phone of victim was tracked to Punhana in District Mewat (Haryana). Another call was received from the victim's mobile phone and the ransom amount was settled at Rs 2 lakh that was to be delivered at Hodal Punhana Crossing on NH-2, Haryana in the evening of October 13," said a senior police officer.
The officer said that a police team immediately rushed there along with complainant and laid a trap at some distance from Punhana Crossing.
"One person on a motorcycle came there to collect the ransom money. The complainant carrying ransom amount along with one police personnel in plain clothes moved towards him and on reaching near him, the police personnel immediately overpowered him who was identified as Azad. Later, Insaf was also arrested," the officer said, adding that police have rescued Sheelu.
Police said that the victim was allured by a woman. After friendly conversation with Sheelu over phone for a few days, the woman called him to Uncha Gaon, Sector-64 in Ballabhgarh in the afternoon of October 11.
"When the victim reached there, she took him to the house of their accomplice Akram's sister where he was overpowered and beaten up by co-accused Akram and his wife," the officer said.
