Delhi's maximum temperature 42.9 degrees Celsius

The national capital today reeled under severe heat wave conditions as the mercury soared to settle at 42.9 degrees Celsius even as high humidity caused discomfort to Delhiites.
The Safdarjung observatory, the reading of which is considered as the official figure for the city recorded a maximum temperature of 42.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 30 degrees, both three notches above the season's average, said a Met department official.
The Palam observatory registered a maximum temperature of 45.3 degrees Celsius, the official said.
Humidity in air oscillated between 70 and 32 per cent.
Met has forecast clear skies for tomorrow.

"The skies will be mainly clear. Dust haze is likely to occur towards morning and evening.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 43 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the minimum temperature had settled at 28.7 degrees Celsius while maximum temperature was recorded at 42.7 degrees Celsius.
