Delhiites enjoy pleasant 1st day of 2017, throng India Gate
Press Trust of India New Delhi The new year began on a cold, yet pleasant note for Delhiites, who made the most of the sunny weather on a Sunday to make a beeline to India Gate.
A bright and sunny morning gave way to a chilly evening, as the minimum temperature settled at a little over 9 degrees Celsius.
According to a Met deparment official, the maximum temperature settled at 23 degrees Celsius while the visibility at Safdarjung improved to 3000 metres in the evening as compared to 500 metres in the wee hours.
Humidity was recorded at 100 per cent, said the weatherman, who has predicted shallow to moderate fog tomorrow morning and clear skies later in the day.
Yesterday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average while the maximum temperature was pegged at 20.3 degrees, also a notch above normal.
