Demand from flour mills lifts wheat prices

Wheat prices edged higher by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today largely on increased offtake by flour mills against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
However, other grains including rice basmati held steady in scattered deals.
Marketmen said mild demand from flour mills amid restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,570-1,575 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and edged up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,575-1,580 per 90 kg.
