Demonetisation:Industries assns to seek audience with PM or FM

: Claiming that they were facing a deepening crisis due to demonetisation, particularly in paying salaries to workers, 51 Industries associations in the region today decided to seek an audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to make liquid cash available cash available to them.
They would first meet Union Minister Kalraj Misra with this request, among others after which they would seek an audience with the PM and FM, the associations said.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of representatives of 51 associations to discuss the impact of withdrawal of high value notes on industries.

Though they welcomed the government's efforts to tackle fake currency and corruption, there were many issues faced by trade and industry, causing hardship, the associations said.
With shortage of cash in the system, especially in an industrial city like Coimbatore, the government should immediately rush sufficient supply of cash so that it was made available in all banks and ATMs to tide over the crisis, M V Loganathan, president of Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate Manufacturers Welfare Association said.
Other major demands include sufficient supply of small denomination notes and enhancing the limit of withdrawal of salary to workers, based on past transactions, as they have to be paid by seventh and 10th of every month, he said.
