"The youth died yesterday, but we were waiting for the reports to confirm whether it's a case of dengue death," state Director of Health Services Biswaranjan Satpathy said.
He said in another case, a labourer from Bihar died in Birbhum district today, but it was not immediately confirmed if it was a case of dengue death.
"We are unsure whether it's a case of dengue. We are waiting for the reports," the official said.
These cases were reported mostly from Serampore Municipal area apart from North 24-Parganas, Hooghly, Howrah and Nadia districts as also a few districts in north Bengal, he said.
