Dengue menace: SDMC to make fogging machines location online

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation today decided to make the location of fogging machines available online in a bid to effectively combat dengue, SDMC Mayor said.
Mayor Sarita Chaudhary took this decision after an emergency meeting with the SDMC Commissioner, MHO and other senior officials of Public Health Department and directed them to take immediate steps to control spread of the disease.
400 new dengue cases have been reported during the last four days in Delhi, taking the total to over 2100 so far, surpassing last year's figure, according to an MCD report released today.
"The process to make the location of fogging machines online has begun and very soon people and MCD officials can see the details, the place and the timing etc, online on the official website www.Mcdonline.Gov.In," Mayor Chaudhary told PTI.

While north Delhi corporation has registered over 1,000 dengue cases, the south Delhi municipal body posted 540 cases followed by east Delhi seeing 435 cases, the report said.
The Mayor added that "fogging machines have been increased in the all four zones of the corporation but citizens are not able to take maximum benefit. With this step citizens will know whether fogging machine is available in their area are not".

The south corporation has adequate medicines and machines to control dengue. We are providing sufficient budget to tackle this deadly disease dengue, she added.
She also directed officials to start special sanitation drive in sensitive areas and to ask all government and private hospitals to update the corporation about the status of dengue patients.

All heads of departments of government and autonomous educational institutes have also been instructed to follow preventive measures against dengue in their offices and campuses.
"We also have been doing 'dengue homework programme' in our schools where kids are asked to collect information about the disease, and in the process they sensitise not just themselves but also their parents," SDMC Manish Gupta said.
