According to the MeT Department here, fog reduced visibility at several places including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Faridabad and Gurugram.
Chandigarh also witnessed a low visibility due to fog early in the morning.
Movement of vehicular traffic was affected at many places in the two states due to fog while several trains were reported running late.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 11.2 deg C, four notches above normal limits.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 8.8 deg C, three degrees above normal.
Ludhiana's minimum also settled at 8.8 deg C, up two notches while Patiala registered a low of 11.5 deg C, three degrees more than normal level.
