"Depressed" over his unsatisfactory performance in MBBS exam, an 18-year-old student of a private medical college here ended his life by jumping from the sixth floor of his apartment, police said today.
"Vishal Yadav, hailing from Rewari in Haryana, was the first year student of MBBS at private LN City Medical College. He flung himself to ground late last night from Sagar Premier Apartment on JK Hospital Road where he was staying," In-charge of Kolar police station Akilesh Mishra told PTI.
He said that Yadav was depressed as he couldn't do well in one of his first semester papers on Saturday.
"Before taking the extreme step, Yadav sent an SMS to his friend Jitin in which he said he was under depression as he couldn't perfom in the test according to his expectations," Mishra said.
The police officer said the post-mortem was conducted and Yadav's body is handed over to his parents.
