It also suggested hoisting of Distant Cautionary Signal Number One (DC-I) at Paradip and Gopalpur ports.
In a bulletin, the IMD said that the deep depression lay centred at about 700 km south-southeast of Paradip over central Bay of Bengal near latitude 14.00 N and longitude 87.00 E at 0830 hours today.
"It would move northwestwards and intensify further into a cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours. It would then move west-northwestwards towards Andhra Pradesh coast. It would weaken gradually into a depression while reaching near the coast on November 8 night," the bulletin said.
Under its impact, gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph would prevail along and off Odisha Coasts, IMD director Bhubaneswar Sarat Sahu said.
Sahu said the state may experience mild rain on November 8 and 9.
