Radical Sikh outfit Dal Khalsa today termed the Punjab government's decision to set up a judicial commission to probe the incidents of sacrilege as an "eyewash" and said "hardly has any such commission produced genuine results".
"Almost two weeks have passed and the commission led by outfits chief Justice (retd) Jora Singh was yet to begin its probe. The government has no time to even issue a notification to this effect...Clearly showing its non-seriousness," the outfit's chief H S Dhami said.
"It's a tradition in India that political parties set up commissions led by retired judges only to buy time...Hardly has any such commission produced genuine and meaningful results," he said.
The Punjab government had on October 14 mandated the commission to uncover the conspiracy behind the incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and its aftermath.
