Devendra Kumar Tiwari was appointed as the new chief secretary of Jharkhand, an official notification said here Sunday.
The 1986-batch IAS officer who now holds the post of development commissioner, succeeds Sudhir Tripathi, who retired on Sunday.
Additional Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, presently with the Planning-cum-Finance department, has been appointed the new Development Commissioner, the notification said.
The Election Commission has approved the state government's proposal for the new appointments, an official spokesman said.
