DGCA-AAI team to visit Karipur airport tomorrow

A joint team of Director General of Civil Aviation and Airports Authority of India will visit Karipur airport in north Kerala tomorrow. They will inspect the feasibility of the airport runway for the landing of large aircrafts, according to a government release here.
J S Rawat, Joint Director, DGCA and J P Alex and S K Biswas of AAI would be among the official team visiting the airport, it said.
The Centre has decided to send the expert team based on the request of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who met Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathiraju on April 18 at New Delhi.
Chief Minister has given directions to speed up the land acquisition process for the expansion of runway of Karipur airport, the release said.
