DGGI carries out search against Jaipur-based firm

The Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence carried out search operation against a Jaipur-based firm for not paying GST to the tune of Rs 7 crore, a DGGI official said.

A team of Jaipur zonal unit of the DDGI, conducted search operations yesterday at a firm and seized incriminating documents pertaining to the evasion of the Goods and Service Tax, he said.

The official said that the firm is into the business of organising online skill based fantasy sports game, including cricket, which falls under the purview of GST and it was found that the firm was not paying the GST on the amount collected by them.

During the search operation, the firm voluntarily deposited Rs 1.53 crore in anticipation of their GST liability, which comes to Rs 7 crore in preliminary enquiry, the official said.

Further investigation in this case is underway, he said.
