There is a need to bring more dedication in the police force for greater efficiency, Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar said today.
The official said this during the re-opening of the police headquarters here today following 'Darbar Move', a century-old practice under which government functions six months each in the two capitals of Jammu and Srinagar.
Rajendra was presented a guard of honour at the Police Headquarters, which re-opened here this morning.
On his arrival, he was received at the PHQ lawns by senior police officers, including Additional Director Generals of Police, S P Vaid and S M Sahai.
The DGP visited various sections of PHQ and asked officials about the working of their respective branches.
"There is a need for more dedication to bring more efficiency in the day-to-day working," Kumar said.
He said efficiency in working would strengthen the subordinate units to work for the betterment of the public.
The DGP said matters related to public interest should be disposed on merit without wasting any time.
Rajendra also visited other police establishments moving to the winter capital, including Security, CID, Traffic and Crime Headquarters, and interacted with officers of these wings.
He stressed upon the officers to render their duties with zeal and dedication and ensure coordination for a smooth conduct of the state elections.
