"Dhawal will be flying to Australia on Saturday and we are in the process of getting his visa done. He is going there as cover for Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who has injured his ankle and will come home, take treatment, and then go back to Australia," Patel told PTI.
Kulkarni had played for Mumbai in the season-opening Ranji Trophy Group A match for a losing cause against Jammu and Kashmir and returned figures of two for 47 and none for 57 in the two innings in which the visitors made 254 and 237 for six to shock Mumbai by four wickets.
