Singh Dhesi has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Haryana.
He replaces P K Gupta who is retires today, having taken over charge on December 1.
Dhesi will be the 32nd CS of the state since Haryana's inception in 1966.
A 1982 batch IAS officer, D S Dhesi will also hold the charge of General Administration, Personnel, Training, Vigilance, Parliamentary Affairs and Administrative Reforms Departments and Secretary Incharge of Plan Coordination, an official release said.
Dhesi had been on central deputation since 2010. He was holding the charge of Additional Secretary in the ministry of Commerce and also holding additional charge of CMD of Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India Ltd (MMTC).
