Dhote files nomination from Amravati graduates' constituency

Prof Deepak Dhote of MLA Bachhu Kadu-led Prahar Sanghatana today filed his nomination papers for one seat of Maharashtra Legislative Council from Amravati Graduates' constituency, to be held next month.
Prof Dhote, a former NUTA (Nagpur University Teachers Association) executive, will be pitted against the sitting MLC and state minister Dr Ranjit Patil.
Accompanied by Prahar activists and his supporters, Dhote filed his nomination paper at the Divisional Commissionarate.
Meanwhile, MLC Prof Shrikant Deshpande-led Shikshak Aghadi today announced its support to Ranjit Patil, who is expected to file his papers on January 16.
The elections to five seats will be held on February 3, of which two seats are from graduates' constituency and rest from teachers' constituency segment.
