Addressing the ruling party workers at the Congress Bhavan here, Lal Thanzara said no government could maintain roads during the peak of monsoon.
The people should understand that all the roads were not under the state Public Works Department (PWD) and many of them were under the Union MoRTH, in which the state government could not intervene even if it wanted to, Lal Thanzara, the younger brother of state chief minister Lal Thanhawla, who recently got the PWD portfolio said.
The PWD was earlier held by Lal Thanhawla.
Lal Thanzara promised that the state PWD would take advantage of the coming brief dry season to repair the roads across the state by availing loan and getting funds from other sources.
