Digvijay demands cancellation of medical officers' exam

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh demanded cancellation of the Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination-2013, conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) in view of the number of irregularities in the selection process and called for a CBI probe into it.
Highlighting the number of irregularities in the Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination-2013, Singh wrote to MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan demanding cancellation of the exam and a CBI probe into it.
The Congress General Secretary said that even when he had written to the MP CM earlier about the issue, it got published in local dailies, but the MPPSC gave merely vague clarifications to points raised by him in its website.

Singh said that the examination process is not "transparent" and varied from exam to exam, which is not fair.
He said that awarding 34 bonus points to all candidates who appeared in the Homeopathic Medical Officer Examination is a matter of concern and termed it unfair, especially to those candidates who were supposed to get selected on the basis of merit.
"It appears that bonus marks were awarded by the MPPSC to benefit ineligible candidates and hence it should be probed," he said.
Singh also raised the issue of how a particular person who had not cleared the written examination was called for a separate interview after the selection process was over.

In view of the above irregularities, it would be proper if the Homeopathic Medical Officer examination-2013 is cancelled and a CBI probe is ordered into it, Singh said.
