Dilip shocks Aditya Mehta

Dilip Kumar of Railways stunned ace cueist Aditya Mehta 3-1 in a best-of-five frames Group A tie in the CCI Classic Billiards & Snooker Tournament, here today.
Tamil Nadu based Kumar got off to a dream start when he bagged the opening frame with a significant break of 53 that boosted his confidence.
However, Mehta bounced back with a break of 40 to win the second frame. But Kumar held on to small but significant breaks to remain ahead in the following two frames to fashion a memorable win.
Later, Mehta shrugged off the loss and made amends with wins over former Maharashtra state champion Nikhil Ootam and I H Manudev of Karnataka.

Asian Championship bronze medallist Kamal Chawla endured a surprise challenge against upcoming cueist Malkeet Singh of CCI before snatching a thrilling 3-2 win in Group B.
Railway's Chawla opened up with a delightful unfinished break of 87 to win the first frame, in reply to Singh's impressive 51. Singh went on to take a surprise 2-1 lead following a break of 52 in the second frame and a black ball win in the third.

But Chawla fought back to narrowly win the crucial fourth frame before taking away the decider and the match by a substantial margin.
India no. 7 Laxman Rawat who was shocked in his opening two Group B matches, recovered brilliantly to beat Manan Chandra 3-0 and no. 2 Hasan Badami in a hard-fought 3-2 thriller.
