Malayalam film director Nadirshah was today hospitalised here after he complained of uneasiness when he appeared before police for questioning over the alleged abduction and sexual assault of an actress in February last.
Nadirshah, a close friend of Malayalam film actor Dileep, who has been arrested on the charge of conspiracy in the case, complained of uneasiness when he appeared before the team investigating the matter at Aluva police club, police said.
Doctors from a nearby government hospital, on being requisitioned by police, found variation in the blood pressure and blood glucose levels of Nadirshah and declared him physically unfit for questioning, they said.
Later, he was admitted to a private hospital.
Interrogation of Nadirshah had been postponed and would be held as and when he was declared physically fit by medical experts, Aluva Rural Superintendent of Police A V George said.
A staus report on this would be submitted in Kerala High Court, which had two days ago directed Nadirshah to appear before the probe team and cooperate in the investigation.
The court gave the directive while adjourning his anticipatory bail petition to September 18.
Opposing the anticipatory bail plea, the prosecution had said the film director had not been made an accused in the case till now.
The court had then said police can file a report if he did not cooperate with the probe.
The prosecution had informed thecourt that there was sufficient material to show that Nadirshah had telephonic talks with key accused in the case, Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni.
Dileep and Nadirshah were questioned on June 29 by police in view of some revelations made by Suni.
Six persons, including Suni, had been arrested in connection with the February 17 incident that has sent shock waves in the film industry.
Dileep, arrested on July 10 on the charge of hatching the conspiracy with Suni to the assault the actress out of personal grudge, is now under judicial custody.
The actress, who has worked in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films, was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted in her car for two hours by the accused.
The assailants had forced their way into the vehicle and later escaped in a busy area here.
