Taking suo motu cognisance of news reports in this regard, the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has sought an explanation from the Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC).
"The MPHRC has asked the MPPSC Secretary to submit a report over news that a physically-challenged girl was forced to climb about two dozen staircases to reach her seat in the exam hall," MPHRC Public Relations Officer L R Sisodiya said today.
Sisodiya said the MPPSC Secretary has been asked as to why necessary arrangements for the physically challenged candidates were not made at exam centres.
"We have also sought information about arrangements of 'writers' made for the visually-impaired candidates who appeared in this exam," he said.
