Acting on a tip-off, seven persons were yesterday nabbed and original answer sheets, questions papers and booklets were seized from their possession, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Commissioner's Task Force) N Koti Reddy said today.
R Suresh, Correspondent, C Ajay Kumar, Co-coordinator, G Swarnalatha, Principal and M Kiran Kumar, Supervisor (of different colleges and educational academies) are among the accused, Reddy said.
As per schedule, there was an MSc Data Mining and Techniques, 2nd year IT Distance education exam at various education institutes in the city and in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district.
During interrogation, it came to the fore that supervisor Kiran Kumar used to collect the question papers from various examination centers and after getting completion of writing the examinations from the engaged students, he returned the answer sheets, Reddy said.
Three private employees are among the seven arrested so far and efforts are on to nab another correspondent (college official) besides the management officials of another educational academy, he added.
