He said bovine animals cannot be transported from Kathua to other districts without a written permission of the district magistrate or additional district magistrate of Kathua.
"District Magistrate Rohit Khajuria in exercise of the powers vested in him under Section 144 CrPC has imposed a ban on the transportation of bovine animals such as cow, oxen, bulls, calves etc from the district," the spokesperson said.
The order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of two months from the date of its issuance till the same is rescinded, whichever is earlier, he added.
