The Madras High Court bench adjourned their bail pleas till Monday and directed police against arresting them till then.
The petitioners, Raja, PM Mohan, M Kamatchi Raja, K Virumandi and V Ramesh, said they apprehended arrest on a complaint registered by police against them under IPC Sections 147 (rioting), 341 (wrongful restraint), 353 (assault or use of criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 188 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant).
The petitioners contended that the complaint was false and submitted that they would not abscond.
