"Our Governor has lauded the law and order situation. Only those above him in position are duty bound to comment on the law and order in Tamil Nadu. Not only are they duty bound, they are also responsible (for it)," he said in a statement here.
Rosaiah said had told an English daily yesterday that the law and order situation was "fine" in the state.
He, however, had declined to comment further on the charges by opposition parties that the official machinery had failed to work properly.
