DMK disputes Lt Governor's claim on law and order situation

Opposition DMK today disputed the claim of the Puducherry Lt Governor Lt General (retired) A K Singh in his message on the occasion of the Republic Day that "law and order situation in Puducherry remained peaceful and was under control" .
Convenor of Puducherry unit of DMK M A S Subramanian said in a release here today that the Lt Governor's claim 'is a matter of concern and is contrary to the practical situation seen in law and order sector in Puducherry'.
Subramanian said Puducherry witnessed several incidents of murders including the alleged killing of a woman living alone in her house in a rural area during the last two weeks.
He alleged that in Republic Day message, the Lt Governor also failed to highlight the stand of the government on according three per cent quota of reservation for differently abled persons in education and employment.
